Community Service Program of the Year
The Community Service Program of the Year Award recognizes an activity that is sponsored by a student organization at the University of Nebraska - Kearney that contributed to the broader mission of the University and encourages students to engage in service beyond a singular experience.
The organization that received this award spent countless hours and funds on a special project that the people of the City of Kearney, and the surrounding communities, will benefit from for years to come. While being the quintessential embodiment of the holiday spirit, this program - along with its success - brought attention to the organization and the affiliated academic program via local television news stations and the Kearney Hub. Not only did the community of Kearney benefit from this project, but the students who dedicated time to this wholesome event were able to apply important skills they have learned in the classroom to the program.
The Community Service Program of the Year for 2013 is Santa’s Workshop hosted by the Construction Management Organization.
Members of the Construction Management Organization with Dr. Joseph Oravecz, Dean, Division of Student Affairs.
