Unsung Hero Award

 

The Unsung Hero Award recognizes an individual who has taken the initiative and/or has gone the extra mile to contribute to the success of UNK through his or her outstanding contributions within their organization. Going the extra mile is evident in their follow-through and willingness to help others. The winner of the award does not necessarily hold a leadership position within their organization, but is an overall hard worker and is dedicated to the success of their group.

The Unsung Hero for this year was described by her nominator as “an individual who takes the initiative to contribute to the success of UNK through her involvement in her organizations. In her short time at UNK, she has made a large impact in the University community by being open about her personal struggles and how she compensates to be successful. Her "I won't stop until the job is done and done right" approach to her work is truly immeasurable.

The Unsung Hero for 2013 is Emaly Ball.
