It is great to welcome you to the University of Nebraska - Kearney!
Whether you are new to UNK, a current student, or returning alumni, you
will find that our Greek community offers a wide range of opportunities
to grow as an individual, develop your personal values and character,
and progress as a leader.
For over 60 years, fraternities and
sororities the University of Nebraska - Kearney have been instrumental
in cultivating a dynamic and educational collegiate experience for undergraduate students. Although the Greek community composes only 12% of our student population, members from our chapters are involved in nearly all of UNK's 200 student organizations.
Being in a
fraternity or sorority is the premier leadership experience that
universities can offer a student. Opportunities ranging from chapter
management, event planning, accounting/budgeting, and many more are all
ways fraternities and sororities provide a unique leadership opportunity
to the students of the University of Nebraska - Kearney. Not only are
students involved within their Greek organizations, but you will see
many of them heavily involved in intercollegiate athletics and other
co-curricular, academic, and honor organizations on campus. Some of the
top leadership positions on campus are consistently held by Greek
students.
The Office of Greek Affairs provides active oversight and advising of
chapter events, serves as a liaison between faculty, alumni advisors,
national offices, and parents, develops values-based leadership
development programming, provides training in areas such as chapter
operations, risk management, health and safety and membership
recruitment, monitors the academic performance of fraternity and
sorority members, and recognizes the positive achievements and
contributions of community members. Please peruse our related links for additional news, recruitment information, and chapter profiles.
