ANNOUNCING STUDENT ADVANTAGE: Microsoft Office 365 Pro - No Cost for Student Use

UNK Information Technology is providing Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus for students at no cost via the Microsoft Student Advantage program. This agreement between UNK and Microsoft allows us to provide current students with the latest version of full Office at school and at home.

Who is eligible?

Any student whose primary affiliation is "student". Full-time staff who are taking classes are not eligible at this time.

How do I get it for my computer?

**The installation will go much smoother if you remove or uninstall any previous or current versions of Microsoft Office prior to installing the Student Advantage Microsoft Office**

  • Browse to the LoperMail login page and sign in with your lopers.unk.edu account.
  • Click on the gear in the upper right corner of the screen and select Office 365 settings:

  • Select software from the Office 365 settings menu.
  • To install the Office 365 software on a PC or Mac, simply select the install option from the main software page and follow the on-screen instructions:

  • Run the installer from your Downloads folder, and follow the steps to install.
  • When prompted to Sign In, sign in with your full lopers email address and password.

How do I get it on my phone or tablet?

  • Browse to the Student Office 365 login page and sign in with your lopers.unk.edu account.
  • Click on the gear in the upper right corner of the screen and select Office 365 settings:

  • Select software from the Office 365 settings menu.
  • To install the mobile version of Office 365 on a phone or tablet, select the phone & tablet option and your device, and follow the on-screen instructions:

How many machines/devices can I run this subscription on?

Each subscription license allows you to run Office on up to five machines being Mac or PC. You can also run Office Mobile for Android or Office Mobile for iPhone on up to 5 mobile devices.

How long am I able to use this subscription for Office 365 ProPlus?

Students may use the Office 365 Student Advantage subscription as long as they have a UNK Office365 Account (LoperMail).

How will I activate Office once it is downloaded?

Office is activated when you are prompted to "sign in" upon opening Office for the first time. You will sign in with your full lopers email address and password. Activation requires Internet connectivity, but after that, the user only has to connect to the Internet at least once every 30 days to check the status of the subscription. If the computer goes offline for more than 30 days, Office enters reduced functionality mode until the next time a connection can be made

How can I deactivate?

  • Browse to the Student Office 365 login page and sign in with your lopers.unk.edu account.
  • Click on the gear in the upper right corner of the screen and select Office 365 settings:

  • Select software from the Office 365 settings menu.
  • To deactivate a computer, choose "deactivate" next to the device that is no longer in use.
  • See "Remaining installs available" for details about the remaining number of licenses available.  You are allowed up to 5 active installations.
