Why are we switching?

Moving all students over to the Office 365 system with faculty members has many advantages. It will allow for better collaboration and communication between students and faculty members because they will all be placed in the same system. Another advantage of students being moved over to Office 365 is because it will allow them to download Microsoft Office for free as long as they are a student. Click on the link below for more information on Office 365 Student Advantage.

When will we switch?

Starting March 1, 2014 all new incoming students with automatically be created in the new Microsoft Office365 system. All current/old student accounts will be transferred over May 23rd. This date was chosen because the three-day Memorial Day weekend should minimize email volume going to student accounts and ease the transition.

Will Gmail be deleted?

You will have access to your Gmail based LoperMail from May 23rd until the end of the Fall 2014 semester, December 19th. At this point your email will be permanently deleted and you will no longer have access to your Gmail Lopermail.

Will my email change?

Your email will remain the same, ex: student@lopers.unk.edu. But starting May 23rd all of emails sent to your student address will be sent to your Microsoft based Lopermail.
