Today, we are more connected than ever before. Not only do we use the Internet to stay connected, informed, and involved, but we rely on it for all of our day-to-day needs. With all the advantages of being connected through cyberspace, our increased connectivity brings increased risk.
ITS has implemented many tools to reduce cybersecurity risks at UNK such as disk encryption, secure wireless, vulnerability scanning on servers, and Social Security number scanning. However, technology alone cannot provide adequate information security. No matter how much technology we deploy there will always be a human factor that presents a risk. People awareness and personal responsibility are critical to the success of information security.
The first step in protecting your company, your clients, and yourself is to recognize your risks and learn how to prevent them.
