EASI FAQ 

EASI (Electronic Access to System Information) is UNK's primary authentication system.  A single username and password allows access into many UNK systems including LoperMail (student email), Outlook (faculty and staff email), and Blackboard.  
 

1. What is the difference between EASI and MyBLUE?
   EASI - https://easi.unk.edu
   A single EASI username and password allows access into many UNK systems including Blackboard, UNK eMail, UNK Wireless, and Qualtrics.
   

   • EASI username: Everything before the @ symbol of your UNK eMail address.
   • Student access to: LoperMail (student email), Blackboard, UNKSecure wireless, CTR Library databases, and Qualtrics.
   • Faculty/Staff access to: Outlook (faculty and staff email), Blackboard, UNKSecure wireless, CTR Library databases, Qualtrics, network printers, file shares, and for employees to login to their UNK PC computer.

   
   MyBLUE - https://myblue.unk.edu
   Register for classes, drop/add, financial aid, view account, pay tuition and fees, access personal information, monitor degree plan and advisor information.

   • MyBLUE username: Your NUID number

3. What does knowing my EASI credentials get me access to?
   Your EASI credentials are used for your UNK email account, Blackboard, UNK wireless, Qualtrics and much more.
4. Who has an EASI username and password?
   UNK Students, staff and faculty have an EASI username and password. The username and password are referred to as EASI credentials.
5. What are my EASI credentials?
   Your EASI username and password.

   • Student EASI username: The front part of your LoperMail email address.
     If the LoperMail address is loperl@lopers.unk.edu, then the EASI username would be loperl
   • Faculty/Staff EASI username: The front part of your Outlook email address.
     If the Outlook address is jonesl@unk.edu, then the EASI username would be jonesl

    
6. Where can I find my EASI credentials?

   Students

   All students that are registered for a class can look up their LoperMail email address in MyBLUE

   Once you know your LoperMail email address, you can visit https://easi.unk.edu to setup your EASI password.

   EASI Username for Students: You will find your UNK LoperMail address under personal information in MyBLUE. The first part of your LoperMail address before the @ symbol is what you will input for username in EASI.

   Setup EASI Password for Students:

   1. Once you know your EASI username, you can visit https://easi.unk.edu to setup your EASI password.
   2. Select "Don't Know My Password?"
   3. By knowing your NUID and answering a few questions, you can set up your EASI password.

    

   New Faculty/Staff:

   Contact your department secretary for your Outlook email address and temporary EASI password.

   Once you know your Outlook email address, you can visit https://easi.unk.edu to change your temporary EASI.

   EASI Username for Faculty/Staff: The first part of your email address before the @ symbol is what you will input for username in EASI.

   Setup EASI Password for Faculty/Staff:

   1. Go to EASI at https://easi.unk.edu
   2. Select "Don't Know My Password?"
   3. Select SSRPM Enrollment: Logon
   4. See steps 9 and 10 in this FAQ for more instructions, if needed.

    
7. Can I change my EASI password?
   Yes.

   Students, faculty and staff should visit https:easi.unk.edu, and click the "Don't Know My Password" link. By knowing your NUID and answering a few questions and you can change your EASI password.

   FACULTY and STAFF

   Important information about your EASI password for both PC and MAC users

   • All EASI passwords will expire every 90 days.
   • When your password is about to expire, you will receive an email notification beginning 15 days prior to your password expiration date and these notifications will continue daily until your password is reset.
   • After completing the enrollment process, you will be able to reset your EASI password whenever you want, without ITS intervention, regardless of being a PC or MAC user.

    
8. What complexity requirements are needed for my EASI password?
   1. The last ten passwords are archived and cannot be used again.
   2. The password must be a minimum of 10 characters.
   3. The password cannot contain your user name or any part of your full name that exceeds two consecutive characters.
   4. The password must contain characters from three of the following four categories:

   • English uppercase characters (A through Z)
   • English lowercase characters (a through Z)
   • Numbers (0 through 9)
   • Non-alphabetic characters, for example, !, $, #, %

    

    
9. How do faculty and staff enroll into the UNK Self Service Password Management?
   Note: Enrollment in SSRPM is just a one-time step.

   PC users have two options

   1. PC users will be prompted to enroll and change their password through their Windows log-on screen. Click on "Reset Password" and follow the wizard.
   2. PC users will also be sent an email notification that their EASI password is about to expire.
   • Go to https://easi.unk.edu 
   • Click on "Don't Know My Password?"
   • Click on "Faculty and Staff SSRPM Enrollment".
   • Follow the wizard. Either way works for PC users to enroll.

   MAC users have one option 

   1. MAC users will be sent an email notification that their EASI password is about to expire.
   • Go to https://easi.unk.edu 
   • Click on "Don't Know My Password?"
   • Click on "Faculty and Staff SSRPM Enrollment".
   • Follow the wizard.

    

    
10. How do faculty and staff reset their EASI password?

    After completing the enrollment process, you will be able to reset your EASI password whenever you want, without ITS intervention, and regardless of being a PC or MAC user.

    PC users have two options

    1. PC users can change their password through their Windows log-on screen.

    • Press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys on teh keyboard simultaneously
    • Select the "Change a Password" button
    • Type the "old" EASI password
    • Type the "new" password
    • Confirm

    2. PC users can also change their password on the web by going to https://easi.unk.edu

    • Click on "Don't Know My Password?"
    • If password IS NOT expired: Click on "Faculty and Staff Password Reset Using Active Password".
    • If password IS expired: click on "Faculty/Staff Password Reset Using Challenge Questions".

    MAC users have one option

    1. MAC users can only change their password on the web by going to https://easi.unk.edu

    • Click on "Don't Know My Password?"
    • If password IS NOT expired: Click on "Faculty and Staff Password Reset Using Active Password".
    • If password IS expired: click on "Faculty/Staff Password Reset Using Challenge Questions".

    PC and MAC users: If you are ever locked out of your EASI account and you know your EASI password, you can click on “Unlock Your Account”.

     
11. Will my EASI username and password also get me into MyBLUE?
    No. You will need to use your NUID and TrueYou password for access to MyBLUE.

    Use your EASI username and password for:

    • LoperMail
    • Outlook
    • Blackboard
    • UNK Wireless
    • and other services.
