Improvements to 9th Avenue and Highway 30
UNK and City of Kearney have partnered on a traffic study to consider how to improve the intersection of 9th Avenue and Highway 30. The results of this study showed that either a signalized tee intersection or a roundabout could improve safety at this intersection. A cost review showed that construction costs would be similar for either a tee intersection or a roundabout. This information has been part of initial discussions with Nebraska Department of Roads concerning how to improve safety at this intersection. The graphic shows one concept for how a roundabout might be constructed at this location.
