Vehicle Operation and Maintenance
The results of a vehicle audit by State Auditor noted that additional tracking and reporting is required for vehicles titled and tagged by UNK departments. This reporting includes:
* maintaining daily records of miles traveled;
* maintaining quarterly logs of vehicle maintenance;
* reporting monthly on vehicle use and maintenance.
A procedure has been developed to manage this reporting. The link below describes this process, including monthly submittal of drivers logs and quarterly submittal of maintenance logs to Facilities. Facilities will summarize this information and submit the necessary reports to VCBF.
We have tried to develop a process that is manageable for all involved, and that addresses the auditors concerns.
The intention is for departments to start gathering these mileage and maintenance records as of May 1, 2010, with the first reporting period June 7.
