When considering relocation due to new employment, the career needs of your partner are an important issue. At the University of Nebraska at Kearney, we have made a commitment to be responsive to the needs of dual career couples. The Dual Career Program was established to assist relocating partners in their career search in order to facilitate employment.
Who is the Dual Career Program for?
If you are the relocating partner of an employee at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and have lived in the Kearney area for less than two years, you are eligible to receive the services provided by the Dual Career Program.
What does the program offer?
The Dual Career Program is beneficial because it offers a range of services which relocating partners may find useful in planning and executing their own job search. These services include:
- Up-to-date information about local businesses,
- Networking opportunities,
- Support during job search,
- Resume and cover letter review.
Though the Dual Career Program does not guarantee employment, relocating partners are encouraged to take full advantage of the services the program offers.
Where can I get more information?
The Dual Career Program office can provide information and assist with any questions. Contact the office as soon as possible, preferably before your move to Kearney. The sooner the job search is begun, the more quickly job opportunities can be identified.
