The University of Nebraska at Kearney does not require students to purchase their own computer. Many students, however, prefer to own a computer.

Free computing labs are available on campus to all students. The computing labs include a variety of software, printing facilities, and access to the campus network and the Internet. Many departments maintain departmental labs for students within their courses and majors. Students living in the residence halls can use the residence hall computing labs.

Computer hardware, software, and accessories are available at UNK Technology Store, your on-campus technology store located in Otto Olsen 115. Hardware and software are available at educational pricing, which can amount to significant savings.

All residence hall rooms on the UNK campus have two network data jacks. Students can connect personally owned computers, equipped with an Ethernet card, to the residence hall network at no charge. (See Computing in the Residence Halls.)
