This website was prepared by the UNK Psychology faculty to help you get acquainted with the Department. It will provide you with specific information about the psychology program offered at UNK and answer some of the questions most frequently asked by our students.
In recent years, the Department of Psychology has undergone considerable change: new courses, new professors, new options for research and practical experience. Information about all of these changes is presented here.
This website is not intended to take the place of your Advisor. However, it will assist you in making the best use of the expertise provided by your Advisor. For example, we included a checklist of courses required of our majors which can be used, in consultation with your advisor, to plan your undergraduate educational experience.
Our program is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in scientific psychology which will allow for continued education specializing in either applied areas such as clinical or organization psychology or basic areas such as cognitive or experimental psychology.
We wish you all the best in your studies at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and in our Psychology program. We look forward to interacting with you in the classroom and the laboratory as well as informally through social events arranged by our student organizations. Finally, we welcome your comments which may be used to improve subsequent editions of this website.
Sincerely,

Richard L. Miller, Ph.D.
