The Community for Active Citizenship accepts applications year-round.  Any UNK student in good academic standing, in any major or degree program, is eligible to apply. The only qualifications are that you share a desire to make some small corner of the world a little bit better off, and that you're willing to work at it.

To apply, complete theapplications and return it to the Department of Political Science, 2200 Founders Hall.

The Community for Active Citizenship is a residential learning community built around the idea that ordinary citizens can make a difference.  Students selected as Fellows for the Community for Active Citizenship pursue their own action inquiry project.  In partnership with faculty mentors, the Fellows identify and research some public problem, then propose, carry out and evaluate a plan of action to address that problem.

In addition to providing logistical support for Fellows' projects, the Community for Active Citizenship sponsors a series of campus visits by real-life "active citizens" who share their experiences and expertise with Fellows, demonstrating the many facets of citizenship in American democracy.
