    Counseling Care Counseling Care offers CONFIDENTIAL counseling to students who are currently enrolled at UNK. This service is provided at no charge to students. Students are given an opportunity to discuss thoughts, feelings, and concerns with professional, licensed counselors in a non-threatening environment.

TO DO CHECKLIST

  • Connect with your roommate and decide together on your basic residence hall room setup.

  • On move-in day find your assigned residence hall, check in, get your key and move your belongings into your room to begin your experience of living on campus.  
     
  • Meet your Resident Assistant (RA)! They will be a valuable resource for you.

  • Go to Nebraskan Student Union to get your UNK Card (ID) if you have not already done so.
     
  • Purchase your parking permit at the Police and Parking.  Commuter parking permits may be purchased in the Finance Office in Founders Hall on Monday through Friday.  Bring your vehicle registration with you. 

  • Set up your meal plan at Residence Life if you have not already done so. Any student who has a housing contract has a meal plan
     
  • Purchase your textbooks from the Antelope Bookstore.
     
  • Print a copy of your class schedule and put it in your planner.
     
  • Post a copy of your class schedule near your door.
     
  • Check out the Blue & Gold Welcome Week Schedule and plan to attend all events and activities listed.
     
  • Spend time getting to know your roommate. During the first week talk about your individual lifestyles and schedules and how you can cooperate with each other regarding eating, sleeping, studying, leisure time, visitors, sloppiness vs. cleanliness, etc. It helps to have a good understanding right from the start.
     
  • Check your telephone numbers and email addresses in MyBLUE to be sure they are updated to receive emergency messages through UNKAlert!
