In academic environments in which funding is becoming ever more scarce, directors
of Dual Career Programs must provide clear, convincing rationales for the
maintenance of these programs. Calculating ROI (return on investment) to promote
sustainability of programs is a common business practice that can be used to
bolster the rationale for the importance of Dual Career Programs. This workshop
provides guidelines for directors of Dual Career Programs on how to calculate ROI
so that they can make a clear and convincing argument for the continuance of
these programs.
