We are excited that you are interested in a career in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The Clinical Mental Health degree program provides the knowledge and skills needed for counselors to work in a variety of settings that offer mental health services, such as, inpatient and outpatient care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illnesses, emergency/crisis intervention, and consultation.
The CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health degree program prepares graduates for the following professional certification and licensure:
Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC)
NE Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP)
NE Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP)
Additional coursework is available to qualify for:
NE Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC)
A minimum of 60 hours of graduate coursework is required for the Clinical Mental Health program. Please find additional information within our CMHC Brochure.
