Students in Free Enterprise

SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is a world-wide business organization that encourages projects that "have a head for business and a heart for the world." We complete a variety of projects throughout the year to meet the SIFE judging criteria for our year-end competition.

Our biggest project "New Venture Adventure" is a full-day event put on for 130 high school students from 10-12 area schools. The students learn about entrepreneurship by creating their own business, making business cards, creating a jingle to advertise their business, meeting with real bankers to obtain a "loan", and meeting with actual realtors to "purchase land." We are also very active in Smart Money Week by hosting 4 projects during the week. We complete a variety of other small projects throughout the year.

We are a very active organization. By being involved in SIFE you can gain knowledge about the business world outside of the classroom. You will be presented with many opportunities and be able to network with business professionals in the community. SIFE is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and enhance your college career to be better prepared for the work force.

Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm (as needed) in the 1st floor Student Lounge of West Center
