Pre-Arrival Information

All new international students MUST FILL OUT THE BELOW PRE-ARRIVAL FORM so that UNK can be made aware of when you will be arriving on campus.

New international students are allowed to move into their residence halls on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 for the spring semester, if a signed housing contract has been received by the Office of Residence Life and arrival details (completion of the below form) have been received by International Student Services.

Arranging Travel to Kearney

Here is the best way to travel to Kearney:

  • Fly from your home country to Dallas, Texas. This is the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW).
  • Fly from Dallas directly to Grand Island, Nebraska. This is the Grand Island Central Nebraska Regional Airport (GRI).
    • There are only two flights daily from Dallas to Grand Island. The earlier you make your flight arrangements, the easier it will be to get into Grand Island.
  • There will be a bus at the Grand Island airport that will take you from the airport to UNK.
    • Cost for the bus is $37. This will need to be paid BEFORE you leave your country.
    • Please refer to the document titled "Bus Reservation" for information on payment and reserving a seat on the bus.

Once your flight details have been arranged, you will need to notify the International Student Services Office of your arrival date by filling out the below form.

If your travel arrangements have you arriving in Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska, you must make your own arrangements for a night's stay in a hotel if needed and travel arrangements from your arrival city to Kearney. UNK cannot assist you with these details.
