Voice Area Webpage
Welcome to the UNK Voice Area Webpage. This page is a resource to aid you in your voice study at UNK; it will include voice area important documents, teacher's course documents, useful links, and announcements that pertain to your course of study. You will receive hard copies of most of these documents from your individual teachers. If you should need new copies you can access them on this page. The intent is to make all the necessary documents accessible, however some may have not been made available to post. A number of the forms will be available as word documents or in two PDF versions, a computer enabled fill-in and print, and a print to be filled in manually.
IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS:
This is the 2007 revised version: you are responsible for the content therein. The Handbook includes information on lessons, recitals, recital hearings, incompletes, juries, ensembles, advanced placement, and repertoire and language requirements.
The jury form has been changed to more accurately represent what we as a faculty are assessing. The new rubric will facilitate assessment in two ways. It clarifies, for the student and faculty, what will be assessed and what is expected in each of the criterion. It will also allow the jury process to work more efficiently by reducing the need for long, sometimes illegible, handwritten comments. Be sure to familiarize yourselves with the expectations defined within the new jury form. Bring four copies of the filled in form to your jury. To save paper please print both sides, back and front.
After the fourth semester of Private Voice Study each student should apply for advanced standing. Fill in and bring four copies of this form together with your Voice Department Jury Form to your jury.
Each student must perform a Recital Hearing a minimum of two weeks before the recital is to be performed. Fill in and bring four copies of the form to that hearing.
