David Bauer Director of Choruses (Professor) has enjoyed a career of over thirty years as a professional educator and choral conductor. In recent years, the University of Nebraska-Kearney Choraleers performed in Carnegie Hall, the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, and in Brazil. His choral groups frequently tour throughout Nebraska and have appeared at the state MENC convention. As a high school educator, his choruses were chosen to perform at a regional ACDA convention, a national MENC convention, and were invited to sing for a national ACDA convention. In 1992, Dr. Bauer participated as a conductor at the Oregon Bach Festival.
A native of Kansas, Dr. Bauer earned a B.M.Ed. degree from Fort Hays State University (where he studied voice and conducting with Dr. Donald Stout), an M.M.Ed. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and an Ed.D. from Arizona State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Douglas McEwen.
At U.N.K., he is the director of the Choraleers, Caeslestis Cantores, Collegium, Statesmen, and teaches choral conducting and voice. He is an active adjudicator and guest conductor, appearing in festivals in Alabama, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota. He is the director of the Kearney First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir.
