UNK forensics is a tradition that goes back as far as 1905. In 2005, the team was re-established to compete on the American Forensics Association circuit which is the most prestigious in the nation. Since that time, UNK competitors have hundreds of individual awards, three team sweepstakes awards, and continues to increase their number of qualified events for the American Forensics Association National individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET).
The team is growing quickly and is more competitive every year. Each season, the team travels approximately 15 weekends and attends 25 tournaments. Two college tournaments are hosted on campus every season. Every March, UNK is honored to host the NSAA State Speech and Debate tournament. Director of Forensics, Rachelle Kamrath is a 1996 graduate of UNK and a former competitor.
