Personal Statement
 

A native of Connecticut, Stephen D. Glazier earned an A.B. in Sociology/Anthropology from Eastern University, a degree in Theology from Princeton, an MA and PhD. in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut, and was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Caribbean archaeology at Yale University. Dr. Glazier conducted extensive fieldwork on the Caribbean Island of Trinidad and has published a number of articles and books focusing on Caribbean religions such as Rastafari, Vodoun, and the Spiritual Baptists. His expertise lies in the areas of anthropology, religion, and race relations. Glazier is Past-President of the Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness and Past Secretary of the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion. He is a member of the Graduate Faculty in Anthropology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
