The Master of Arts in Education: Special Education – Mild/Moderate Disabilities degree is designed for teachers who currently hold a teaching certiﬁcate in any discipline and would like to obtain certiﬁcation in special education in the state of Nebraska. Students pursuing certiﬁcation in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certiﬁcation requirements. Courses are offered online at the graduate level.

The Mild/Moderate Disabilities option does not result in initial teacher certification. The process of gaining Mild/Moderate Certification also involves meeting additional requirements; working closely with an academic advisor is critical.
