Steve consistently handles difficult situations and deals with multiple people and departments daily to ensure that all custodial operations go as smoothly as possible. He helps cover for people who are absent and coordinates daily activities as well as arranging for coverage for special events.
As a custodial supervisor Steve is responsible for activities all over campus and frequently deals with issues outside of his area of direct responsibility. His commitment to the University makes it a better place for students and staff.
Steve always helps where needed and no matter who is responsible for the job, all anyone has to do is ask and he is willing to help. Steve promotes a positive team environment which keeps the staff willing to do their job well.
Steven continually strives to improve both his skills and encourages the staff under him to do the same. He keeps the staff on a positive level and helps solve problems that are at individual needs. Steve has the ability to keep the staff moving forward to help keep the unity in the department.
Steven has been at UNK/Kearney State since March o0f 1980. He started in the library and became the leader for that building. He then became the building leader at West Center and later moved to Health and Sports Center. He was the Special Projects Team Leader at night for 5 years and then returned to the day shift to take over as supervisor in April 2007. He treats his staff well and is always willing to help out whenever needed.
