Deb is focused and extremely service oriented and she keeps the office area running smoothly. She is dependable. Faculty and students can depend on her to do a job and make sure it is done currently. She effectively supervises work-study students. Deb works hard to fund solutions for faculty members, other staff members, and students when questions/problems arise. If she doesn’t know something, she quickly and efficiently finds out. She volunteers to do more than is necessary. She presents a positive image for the department.
Deb has made numerous contributions to the department. She works on class schedules and has assisted the department in preparing applications for Department Teaching awards. Deb has been instrumental in helping faculty members prepare portfolios for evaluation. She has been the search coordinator for the department preparing and organizing paperwork for the search and interview schedules. She is also a good ambassador when prospective UNK students visit the department. Deb has the ability to stay calm and thoughtfully determines how to handle a situation that may be stressful.
Deb is team-oriented. She will jump in to help with a project at the last minute if necessary to make sure that it is done right. She is very congenial to work with and is always willing to help others. In addition to the work she does for he own department, she is also willing to pitch in and help with activities in other departments if needed. Her quiet and soft spoken nature is refreshing. Her competence makes one feel that the job will get done and done right. She is a quick learner and has helped faculty where ever possible.
Deb works extremely had and always strives to do her best. She is frequently the last person in the office at the end of the day. Deb is pleasant to work with and her willingness to help others sets a positive example for all of us. For her dedication, loyalty and support, UNK Staff Senate is pleased to present Deb Nourse with the Employee Achievement Award for August, 2010.
