JoAnna Cordova, Director of the UNK Child Development Center is the UNK Employee of the Month for December 2005.
JoAnna has been employed at UNK since August 2002 and received her BA degree in Education from UNK. As the Director of the Child Development Center, JoAnna supervises three full-time and thirty-five part-time employees. Additionally, she teaches the preschool program and works closely with parents on many issues. Under her leadership, the Child Development Center has met the challenge of a growing demand for childcare here on campus.
JoAnna has been a key player with numerous fund raisers which has allowed the Center to purchase lesson and activity plans, playground equipment, a storage shed, and toys.
Her staff and other individuals on campus have commented that JoAnna is a true team player who involves her staff in setting goals for the Center. She highly encourages feedback from her staff and parents and is always striving to do all that can be done for the children in her care. She does an excellent job of communicating with everyone.
JoAnna is an example of what professionalism and dedication can accomplish. Her support of UNK and the community is an asset to everyone. Congratulations JoAnna on a job well done and for being named UNK’s December Employee of the Month.
