The UNK Staff Senate is honored to recognize Jane Jameson as the May 2009 UNK Employee of the Month. Jane goes above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis and has done so for many years. Her co-workers praise her “unfathomable knowledge of the workings of the University and the department” and she is always everybody’s best advocate. Whether it’s copying assignments at the last minute, working with the business office to secure reimbursement, filing, cataloguing or retrieving archival music, handling budgetary issues, or any number of things, her colleagues often say they really don’t know what they would do without her.
Just a few examples of the many “little extras” she does would include hosting the faculty picnic, decorating the recital hall for Christmas, and just recently, she volunteered to drive the van for a Nebraskats tour when no other certified van driver was available. Jane is “priceless” to her colleagues. She’s always cheerful, always helpful, and has a seemingly endless capacity for getting things done. Her nominator sincerely believes that if there’s any employee who deserves such an award it must be Jane, because her department could not hire enough people to replace her. “She is entirely indispensable,” according to her nominator.
For her hard work and respect among her colleagues, the UNK Staff Senate is pleased to recognize Jane Jameson as the May 2009 UNK Employee of the Month.
