Jacque Triplett
Employee of the Month
March 2009
The UNK Staff Senate is pleased to recognize Jacque Triplett, Office Associate in the Office of Financial Aid, as the March 2009 Employee of the Month. Jacque is responsible for processing financial aid applications and associated documentation. Her attention to detail and her conscientious approach to her responsibilities are exemplary. Over her 20 years of service to the University her responsibilities have increased to advance the use of technology. Jacque embraces these new opportunities with courage and never turns down an opportunity to assist with the implementation of new technology in the Office of Financial Aid. Jacque also manages student employees with empathy and patience. She considers her responsibility as a manager of student staff as an opportunity to enhance the classroom experience our students are receiving to prepare them for the world of work.
Jacque consistently applies a philosophy of value-added service. Jacque uses all possible means to expedite the processing of financial aid files with an eye towards meeting our students' needs. She will take the extra time to prepare a specific letter or email or call a student on the phone if a complicated situation deserves an extended explanation. She is always thinking about how she would want a situation handled if she were in the shoes of the student.
One of Jacque's most notable contributions is the individual time and attention she takes with students and their parents. In fact her colleagues in the Office of Financial Aid often tease her about this when she takes a rotation and answers the main line in the Office of Financial Aid. She takes the time to not only answer financial aid questions for our students and parents. She often provides advice on everything from parking to meal plans to what kind of sheets the student should bring for the residence hall beds. Often students or parents will call our office and ask to speak specifically with Jacque because they feel so comfortable with her assistance. Additionally Jacque is very involved in her church volunteering to serve on committees and supporting the congregation in multiple ways.
Jacque is an important asset to the Office of Financial Aid, therefore Staff Senate would like to recognize her as the March 2009 Employee of the Month.
