UNK Employee of the Month
December 2008
The UNK Staff Senate is pleased to recognize Tami Plugge, Administrative Associate for Academic Affairs, as the December 2008 UNK Employee of the Month. The combination of Tami’s knowledge coupled with her strong work ethic, has been helpful in accuracy and responsiveness in her area.
Tami receives visitors to the office with genuine warmth and courtesy; arranges dozens of meetings each week; takes minutes of meetings and arranges their posting on the web; contacts people across campus, and the University System, nationally and internationally -- gathering and disseminating information; handles sensitive paperwork, protecting both its confidentiality and its security; files and retrieves information as needed; arranges travel and reimbursements; plans lunches and dinners for frequent groups of visitors to UNK; and provides reports to UNCA. Tami’s honest, congenial, and intelligent dealings with all people has given great credibility and confidence to our office’s services to students, staff members, and faculty. Many people have remarked with great enthusiasm about her pleasant nature and her high level of effectiveness.
Tami is committed to teamwork. She is a member of the Academic Affairs Office team which includes the immediate office as well as Deans and program directors. She is also a team leader within our office, and leads by example – both in the type and volume of work she performs.
Tami is, above all else, devoted to excellence. She works very hard to go the extra mile to be certain that she has fully addressed every facet of every issue, and on a rare occasion in which anything was overlooked, she immediately takes full responsibility and quickly corrects whatever the shortcoming might be. There is simply no higher standard possible for her to attain! In a broader sense, she consistently demonstrates her commitment to academic excellence, to excellence in service to the academic affairs area and to UNK in general, and to improving the quality of our office functions.
For all of her hard work the UNK Staff Senate would like to recognize Tami Plugge as the December 2008 Employee of the Month.
