UNK Student Diplomats
January 2008
UNK Department of the Month
The UNK Staff Senate is privileged to recognized the Student Diplomats within the Admissions Office as the January 2008 Department of the Month.
The Student Diplomat team consists of the 16 of UNK’s best student representatives. The Diplomats are responsible for providing potential UNK students and their families with informative campus tours that assist them in the decision select UNK which is one of the greatest commitments that a group of student employees could make to the campus.
The Student Diplomat team provides the campus with an outstanding event at least nine or more times a week. The tours that they give Monday through Friday in the morning and Monday through Thursday in the afternoon are always interactive and informative. While taking strangers on a walk for an hour and half isn’t easy, the Diplomats do this and do it well. They make these strangers feel welcome and feel a part of the UNK campus community and their personal touch has huge impact on recruitment.
The student diplomats know that they have to walk a thin line of relating to the student visitors while at the same time representing the UNK campus and they are outstanding at doing both. Their contribution to the excellence of the UNK’s community will be felt for many years to come. They have and will continue to influence prospective student’s decision to attend UNK.
For the work they put in on the front lines of the recruiting battle, as well as the exemplary way they represent the UNK community, the UNK Staff Senate is pleased to recognize the Student Diplomats as the January 2008 Department of the Month.
Thank you to the sponsors of the Department of the Month: UNK Athletics and Staff Senate.
