September 2006 UNK Department of the Month - Calvin T. Ryan Library
The UNK Calvin T. Ryan Library is deserving of the Department of the Month for the many services they offer to faculty, staff and students alike. They have a dedicated staff that is willing to help and serve those in need. Some of those services include: Library Instruction and Guided Tours, Reference Services, Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery, Distance Education Student Services, Electronic Information Resources, Off-Campus Access, Information Technology Services Computer Lab and Library Computer Lab, Reserve Network, UNK NetPrint, and the Cafeé’ Calvin. Their hours of service are accommodating to faculty, staff and students as well. It is a place for students to gather to study and conduct research.
With a staff of 26, there is always someone ready and willing to answer questions from the campus community.
There are many services available to the University community, including Liaison Librarians, Library Instruction, NETCHE (Nebraska Educational Television Council for Higher Education), Procedures for Ordering Library Materials, Journal/Magazine Review Form, Reserves - Electronic Reserves Information Reserves and Request Form for Materials Placed at the Circulation Desk.
In the Library you’ll find friendly librarians eager to answer your questions, whether it's face-to-face or via e-mail. Regular orientation and instruction sessions are held to ensure that students learn to use, and benefit from, the array of informational and technological services that they offer.
For their commitment and dedication to students, faculty, and staff, Staff Senate is privileged to recognize their outstanding service to UNK by awarding the faculty and staff at the Calvin T. Ryan Library the September 2006 UNK Department of the Month.
