The UNK Staff Senate Employee Recognition Committee announces Daniel Jones as the UNK Employee of the Month for July 2003.
Dan Jones joined the staff of the University of Nebraska at Kearney in May of 1999 and serves as the Costume Coordinator for the UNK Theatre Department. His commitment to the Theatre Program and UNK students reaches far beyond the Costume Shop. Along with his primary role, Daniel also designs sets, directs, acts, supervises, mentors, instructs and much more. Many demands are placed on Daniel, yet he maintains a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.
Annual participation in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) is another example of Daniel's outstanding work. He has assumedon the responsibility of coordinating KCACTF participation for the theatre students. Each year the Festival has been successful and a testament to Daniel's dedication to the students and the Theatre Department. Daniel also serves as a board member for the Kearney Area Arts Council and a contributor to the annual Kids Fine Arts Day where he shares his talents and passion for the arts with children from Kearney and the surrounding communities.
Daniel is a great asset to the Theatre Department. His creativity, boundless enthusiasm, and ability to collaborate with others help create a positive and enjoyable working atmosphere. Daniel's work is consistently of the highest caliber and his willingness to go beyond the boundaries of his job description is truly an inspiration.
Because of Daniel's commitment to the UNK community, the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Staff Senate is pleased to name Daniel Jones as the Employee of the Month for July 2003.
