The UNK Staff Senate Employee Recognition Committee announces Judy Kuebler as the UNK Employee of the Month for June 2003.
Judith Kuebler serves as Secretary III in the Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She maintains a professional and pleasant office environment as she works with 18 faculty members, as well as a number of graduate students, assistants, and student workers on a daily basis.
Included in Judy's various responsibilities are ordering supplies, materials, and equipment for the Department of Biology for typical department needs and also for grant-supported projects, and arranging faculty and student travel to professional meetings and conferences. Her office and her work are well organized and she maintains a 'bowl of candies' at the counter to welcome visitors and prospective students, and as a morale boost for students and faculty.
Last year, the Department Chair was on sabbatical leave from campus and an Interim Department Chair was appointed. Judy assisted the Interim Chair with departmental budget matters, scheduling, and faculty recruiting procedures. She has devoted weekends and overtime hours to organizing the front office area during the renovation of the Bruner Hall of Science.
Because of her dedication to students, to colleagues, and to the wider UNK community, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to name Judy Kuebler as the Employee of the Month for June 2003.
