As the "lead processor" of applications and the person responsible for all computer work done in the Office of Admissions, Staff Secretary Launa Donohue goes above and beyond her assigned duties. Launa has been with the UNK Office of Admissions for two years, but brought a vast experience with her, having worked in another admissions office setting for several years. She is very "student" focused and has offered many ideas on how to better serve the prospective student.
Launa promotes teamwork among the clerical staff on a daily basis. She energizes the staff on a daily basis by looking for ways to improve and change procedures but always watching how it might affect other staff. She has a very positive and up-beat attitude. Her vast experience in college admissions work helps Launa be very professional and knowledgeable. She has a commitment to excellence in her work and to UNK. She takes a strong interest in the work she does and the goals and mission of the Office of Admissions.
Because of her competence, office management skills and great decision-making skills, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to name Launa Donohue its Employee of the Month for March 2001.
