Beverly Williams is Secretary III for the Department of Business Administration/Business Education. Beverly was responsible for organizing the office when this department, the result of merging two existing administrative units, was created July 1, 1994. This more functional operation was all the more challenging for Beverly, as the Center for Vocational Technical Education had been in existence since 1972. This required her to review all files dating back to that time. She has also had the primary responsibility for managing the move of the BSAD/BSED Department office and all faculty offices in December 1999, while this space underwent renovation. Her efforts on behalf of the faculty were laudable. In August, the department moved back into its permanent offices, and Beverly spent countless hours in packing boxes and making arrangements with the Department of Facilities to accomplish a seamless move. During all of this upheaval, she continued to maintain an efficient operating office and to support faculty effectively.

Beverly Williams' positive attitude is reflected in her equable temperament, for she treats everone fairly and gets along extremely well with students, staff, faculty, and administration. She is a wonderful example of effective recruiting and retention, since she is always gracious and helpful to students. An excellent example of her teamwork is the excellent manner in which she cooperates fully with her fellow secretaries. Thus, she has garnered the respect and admiration of all.

Beverly William's primary concern is to do the best job possible. Her working with the SAP system is an outstanding example of this dedication. She has worked diligently to implement this system and has attended all of the training and retraining sessions associated with the system. She also monitors all work completed by work study students to ensure their accuracy and timeliness.

Beverly's overall attitude and personality contribute to high staff morale. A naturally upbeat individual, she has a positive effect on those who work for her.

Because of her untiring efforts and her loyalty to the department and its faculty and students, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to name Beverly Williams the Employee of the Month for September 2000.
