Kristi Milks is the Staff Secretary III for the Office of Institutional Data and Analysis. Kristi provides secretarial support to four different offices--Institutional Data and Analysis, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Assessment, and General Studies. She manages to juggle the requests from all areas so that deadlines are met. She was especially helpful this last year during the transition between General Studies directors. Kristi was also very helpful during the IDA Director's absence this last year. She is very adept at assisting people when needed.
As part of her duties, Kristi has become proficient with her assistance in preparing and distributing faculty salary notifications across campus. She continues to grow with the job and accomplish increasing obligations with her position.
Recently, Kristi enrolled in a web-design class in order to enhance and maintain office web pages. Kristi is always willing to learn something new such as SAP and adapt to different processes whenever needed.
Often, Kristi serves as the first point of contact when international and ESL students visit the Office of International Education. Even though she is not directly responsible for this function, she projects a very caring and concerned interest in their needs, because she understands the importance of positive communication.
Kristi does a very good job organizing Program Review meetings and meals. This is often very time consuming, and her patience with others is very helpful in coordinating this process.
Kristi is very careful to get proper authorization before releasing information, whether it be minutes she has documented, or phone calls with specific information requests. She works well with others, and strives to follow proper procedures. She is well-liked in the office and all appreciate her efforts to keep us organized.
Because of her talents and commitment to her work and beyond, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to name Kristi Milks the Employee of the Month for July 2000.
