Suzanne Exstrom began her work at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in August 1996 as secretary for the Education Administration and KASE (Knowledge and Assistance to Students in Education) offices.

Her nominator indicates that Suzanne's daily work is always timely and accurate. She never seems to get behind because she always anticipates and prepares for future projects. In order to expedite communication, Suzanne developed an e-mail list for all Educational Administration students. She has also single-handedly designed, upgraded and keeps current the Educational Administration Web page. Working with two very busy departments, the workload is often overwhelming. Suzanne will put in the extra time until projects are completed in a timely manner.

Suzanne is an effective leader in organizing the work of both the Educational Administration and the KASE offices. She efficiently coordinates the efforts and schedules of professors as well as graduate assistants and work study students. Students seek her out, because Suzanne is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She always goes the "extra mile" to see that information is accurate and timely.

Suzanne not only performs her daily tasks with dispatch and accuracy, but she constantly seeks other ways to refine the logistics of existing routines. Sometimes working with two offices part time means more than full time hours. Suzanne is able to handle both departments with great skill.

Not only is Suzanne efficient and accurate, but she is very pleasant and seems to handle and enjoy her sometimes hectic work environment.

Because Suzanne Exstrom is an exemplary, organized employee who epitomizes excellence in her daily work, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to name her the Employee of the Month for February 1999.
