The Employee Recognition Committee of Staff Senate is pleased to name Cecelia Davis, Counseling & School Psychology, as Employee of the Month for April 1998.
Cecelia Davis' exemplary work at the University of Nebraska at Kearney began in 1990. She has spent her entire career here in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology. Cel's major duties include responsibility for production of course, research and presentation materials for ten faculty and four graduate assistants. She assists in the administration and accounting of the budget accounts and serves as receptionist for the department. According to her supervisor, every year Cel's evaluations have approached "outstanding."
Faculty members comment that Cel is always willing to accommodate requests and performs her many duties very efficiently, even during times of great pressure. Faculty can always count on Cel to have work done when needed. Very conscientious about being available during working hours, she always notifies faculty ahead of time if there is a change in her schedule. She handles requests for student information quickly and thoroughly in her characteristic well-organized manner. Cel undertakes difficult tasks and completes them with a high degree of quality without requiring assistance or supervision from faculty.
Cel is always cooperative, adaptable, and flexible, As a self-starter, she willingly takes on new tasks. When first-time faculty arrive, Cel is helpful in explaining procedures and in orienting them to the different departments on campus.
As a valued member of the department team, Cel is ever responsive to her associates' needs. One members of the faculty commented that "Cel is always pleasant and helpful and her patience sustains me when I'm worn out."
Cel's wholehearted commitment at the University of Nebraska at Kearney goes beyond her departmental assignments. She has served on a number of university-wide committees and has received special recognition for her outstanding service on the board of the Office/Service Advisory Council.
Because of her loyalty and service to her department and to the university, and because of her outstanding work, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to recognize Cel Davis as the Employee of the Month for April.
