Rochelle Krueger has worked at the C.T. Ryan Library since November 1994. Her colleagues regard her as an honest, caring staff member who can be called upon to seek out information when needed and not be reluctant to bring forward issues of concern and interest to all. Rochelle is a leader in the department.

The Curriculum Department has recently developed a Web page accessible via the Internet. Rochelle developed the major portion of the site. Although she had no background in creating Web pages, Rochelle took the initiative in pursuing training in html coding and worked with other library staff to enhance skills. She identified problems and sought additional information that proved useful in making the site attractive and accurate. Thus, the page enhances the services offered by the library. Rochelle took on the Web project with tenacious enthusiasm and gained the information and skills needed to make the Web a valuable addition to the library and the university. This increased her value as a resource person for the library in html coding and website design.

Rochelle is a member of the team in the Curriculum Department. She brings forward concerns and problems that she has identified, reminds her supervisor of projects discussed in the past, keeps current on deadlines, and cares about the quality of her department's service. Rochelle is a person who will take the extra step to help out a colleague. She works with staff in other departments of the library to develop the html coding skills needed in developing a Web site. She also volunteered for the office service position on the library's Publications Committee at a time of great change on that committee. The entire library staff respects her greatly and sees her as a person to be counted on when needed.

As with the special projects mentioned above, Rochelle Krueger's daily work is exemplary. She prioritizes daily work projects to complete them accurately and on time. Much of her work involves the technical production of resources (guides, bibliographies, and handouts in print and computer formats) that are viewed by students, faculty, and other library users. These materials are always accurate and of the highest quality. Rochelle's service-oriented attitude is ever present in her efficient, friendly contacts with students and library users.

Rochelle Krueger is an exceptional employee. The University of Nebraska at Kearney is pleased to name her its Employee of the Month, January 1998.
