Jeanne Cutler has worked at the University of Nebraska at Kearney since 1990 in the English Department and then the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs office. Currently her responsibilities include the development of the assessment report for the University which is critical to future accreditation. She has done so by working with many individuals and departments, developing a document which accounts for differences in programs but provides consistency in reporting. Jeanne has also been instrumental to the expansion of the Staff Senate website. Once Computer Services links this into UNK's website, detailed information will be available on-line concerning the Employee of the Month program, Senate composition, and minutes of previous meetings.
Jeanne projects a "teamwork attitude" by communicating with virtually every academic department on campus in order to complete each assessment report and modify the campus catalog. She tactfully assists each entity, thereby enabling UNK to achieve campus-wide assessment goals. Jeanne does not aspire to personal recognition for her efforts, but is pleased when others accomplish their tasks with her assistance.
It is important for UNK to have its class schedule as well as its catalog available on-line for prospective students. Jeanne has provided UNK the expertise to provide these documents electronically to anyone who may be interested in viewing a copy. She utilizes her knowledge of PageMaker to provide attractive publications which are effective communication vehicles for the campus.
A positive cheerful attitude is one of Jeanne's greatest attributes. She is always willing to help others, including problems with computers or software, as well as providing assistance in scanning documents electronically for use in presentations.
Jeanne's dedication to UNK makes her a valuable asset to the University. It is therefore fitting that Jeanne Cutler is awarded the Employee of the Month award for October, 1997.
