The Employee Recognition Committee of the Staff Senate of UNK is proud to announce the selection of Financial Aid as March's recipient of the Department of the Month Award.
For many students the Financial Aid office is one of the most important links to their ability to be in school. The office's contact with students, families, governmental agencies and scholarship donors is extensive and extremely important to the students and the university. The effectiveness of the department in carrying out the duties of the office enhances the university's recruitment and retention efforts. Contacts made by the Financial Aid office when making presentations to high school groups about processes, procedures and deadlines is the first impression many families have of UNK and what we have to offer. Their follow-ups with potential students regarding scholarships and financial aid is also crucial.
Staff Senate applauds the efforts of the Financial Aid office in putting their best foot forward and representing the University of Nebraska at Kearney in a most professional manner.
