The Department of the Month Award was initiated by the Employee Recognition Committee and Staff Senate as a way to recognize each month a department on campus that stands out in a positive way, be it for sponsoring an event, providing excellent service, exercising teamwork, showing unique initiative, or for other beneficial reasons.
Before school started this August, the Office of Admissions organized a clean-up day for the Memorial Student Life Building and surrounding grounds. A number of staff from various offices within the building assisted in projects such as touch-up painting, trimming shrubbery, cleaning areas of the building, and tending to flower beds. The Facilities Department provided some tools and materials. The initiative and hard work of these offices, to go above and beyound their student service duties, display a pride in UNK that students notice and appreciate.
For all their hard work and for all they do in the regular course of their work, the UNK Staff Senate and its Employee Recognition Committee congratulate the Memorial Student Life Offices for a job well done and for upholding the university's commitment to excellence.
