The Department of the Month Award was initiated by the Employee Recognition Committee and Staff Senate as a way to recognize each month a department on campus that stands out in a positive way, be it for sponsoring an event, providing excellent service, exercising teamwork, showing unique initiative, or for other beneficial reasons.
The staff of the Grounds Services Department have been especially busy this summer planting flowers, pulling weeds, mowing, and setting up for special activities. We know they work very hard all year to make our campus a pleasant place to work and study, but this time of the year is especially busy for them.
For all their hard work and for all they do in the regular course of their work, the UNK Staff Senate and its Employee Recognition Committee congratulate the Grounds Services for a job well done and for upholding the university's commitment to excellence.
