The Department of the Month Award was initiated by the Employee Recognition Committee and Staff Senate as a way to recognize each month a department on campus that stands out in a positive way, be it for sponsoring an event, providing excellent service, exercising teamwork, showing unique initiative, or for other beneficial reasons.
Members of the Criminal Justice Department have gone the "extra mile" in supporting one of the colleagues of the department. The colleague has had a series of medical conditions that have made it difficult for him to meet his commitments to the department. Department members have covered his classes when he was unable to do so. They have even gone so far as taking turns helping transport him between his home and his office so that he can meet his class schedule.
For this, the UNK Staff Senate and its Employee Recognition Committee congratulate the Department of Criminal Justice for a job well done and for upholding the university's commitment to excellence.
