Online M.S. in Long-Term Care Management

The need for healthcare professionals is continuing to grow in response to societal needs throughout the nation. According to the Population Reference Bureau, the number of Americans 65 years of age and older will more than double by the year 2060, from 46 million to 98 million—increasing the urgency for more long-term healthcare facilities and professionals who can effectively manage them.

To address this need, the University of Nebraska at Kearney is offering a fully online Master of Science in Long-Term Care Management beginning in Fall 2019. This degree will prepare professionals from any undergraduate degree field to serve in leadership roles within long-term care facilities like nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, veteran’s homes, and hospice centers.

Students in this interdisciplinary graduate program will learn both the social science topics and management skills needed to run long-term care facilities. Coursework consists of topics in management, accounting, psychology, and social work, providing well-rounded expertise in all facets of long-term health care management. An opportunity to complete an internship within a long-term care facility also prepares students with practical, hands-on experience while completing coursework fully online.
