Tips for your summer graduation application

Graduate at commencement ceremonySpring commencement may be just around the corner, but if you’re gearing up to graduate this summer, it’s time to apply now—whether or not you plan to walk in summer commencement. Your approved graduation application ensures that you have completed all requirements for your program through the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Here are a few tips for turning in your graduation application:

Consult your advisor. Be sure that your program coordinator or advisor is aware of when you plan to graduate and that you will be submitting your graduation application. Since the application fee is $25 and nonrefundable, ask any questions before you apply.

Apply sooner rather than later. The application period is open now through June 15. Getting your application submitted earlier means you will have time to touch base with UNK if there are any questions about your upcoming graduation requirements. It also helps you avoid any late application fees.

Watch your email. According to UNK’s graduation procedures for both graduate and undergraduate graduation, “students with outstanding requirements will be notified of such holds and the degree will not be granted until the obligations are cleared.” Keep an eye out for any communications from UNK, and be sure to respond quickly to get problems resolved.

View complete graduation information, and submit your summer graduation application by June 15 through MyBlue.
