Music education graphicBenefits of music education are nearly endless for students of all ages in society today. Music not only encourages students to be resourceful, but also provides an outlet for creativity and individuality. For educators, music education combines two professional passions that speak volumes for student success.

That’s why the University of Nebraska at Kearney offers an online Master of Arts in Education (MAE) in Music Education, which equips teachers with concepts, research, and methods to successfully teach music. The program helps them develop pedagogical skills and expand their educational portfolio while advancing in the salary schedule within their school district.

Because the 36-credit-hour program is available completely online, it is accessible to students from all over the world—many of whom teach full time while pursuing the degree. Coursework in the program can also serve as professional development for those teaching K-12 music or as preparation for a doctoral degree.

Faculty in the program have extensive backgrounds in education and musical performance. Through their expertise, the program equips each student with resources and ideas to implement in their own music classrooms.
