Founded as a national organization in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International. Beta Gamma Sigma has established 500 collegiate chapters in all 50 U.S. states and 19 countries and territories at schools accredited by AACSB International. More than 650,000 Beta Gamma Sigma members currently reside in all 50 U.S. states and more than 160 countries around the world.
The UNK chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma was established in 2006. We inducted the first members during the Spring semester and haven’t looked back! Every year, we invite the top 10 percent of junior and senior business majors and top 20 percent of MBA students to join Beta Gamma Sigma.

At UNK, we’ve been fortunate to have high levels of membership acceptance each year. Because so many invitees have accepted the invitation to join Beta Gamma Sigma, the UNK chapter has awarded a $1000 scholarship to a member every year. The scholarship winner is chosen by faculty members of Beta Gamma Sigma from among current and new members who submit an essay describing what membership in Beta Gamma Sigma and recognition as “one of the best in business” means to them.
