Cheryl Bressington started her career at UNK in 1998 when she accepted the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources and Benefits Manager. In 2004 she was appointed as Affirmative Action Director in addition to her responsibilities as Assistant Director of Human Resources and, since 2008, she has served as Human Resources Director and Affirmative Action Director. As part of her duties she also serves as the campus Title IX Officer, ADA Officer and Records Officer. She holds the MBA from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a BS in Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources from Kearney State College. Her past professional experience includes Human Resources Director at Central Nebraska Community Services and Human Resources Assistant at Caldwell Manufacturing of Kearney. She continues to maintain professional memberships in SHRM, Tri-City SHRM, CUPA-HR, and AAAA. She has received a KUDOS award from the University of Nebraska Board of Regents for her efforts in starting the UNK Child Development Center (which still operates under the direction of Human Resources), served on UNK Staff Senate and serves on the University-wide Gender Equity and Diversity Committees.
