Call for Papers: The deadline for submissions is Friday, January
18, 2013 and is open to undergraduates, graduate students, and recent
graduates.
This year's theme is "No Limits 2013: Science and Gender
Matters." The student conference will be held at the University of
Nebraska - Lincoln, March 1-2, 2013. Events will take place in the Nebraska
Union, East Campus Union, and the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery. Events include:
- Friday, March 1: Keynote -- Professor Janet Kourany
(University of Notre Dame, feminist philosopher of science)
-- "But What Happens When the Scientists Are Women?"
- Saturday, March 2: Luncheon panel -- Sarah Gervais
research group, "Applying Gender to Psychology Research: Helping
Students Create New Knowledge"
- Friday and Saturday: student panels presenting academic
and creative work
While our theme is "Science and Gender Matters," papers
and panels can address a wide range of women's and gender themes. We invite
proposals from undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates on any
topic from any discipline related to women’s issues, lives, histories or
cultures; feminism; or women’s and gender studies. Creative writing, visual
arts, film, music, performances, workshops, posters, and academic papers are
all welcome. Proposals for individual presentations or pre-made panels are
accepted.
